NMFPL, NMFL1, and NMFL2 Regular Season Rules
Conduct
– The competition is about having fun and entirely on the honor system. HAVE FUN and DO NOT CHEAT.
– No political or hate speech is permitted in league communications, including social media accounts. Hate speech includes racist, homophobic, and sexist language.
– “Trash talk” about other owners, clubs, or Tottenham Hotspur is allowed and encouraged, provided that the prohibition on political or hate speech is not violated in the process.
Social Media
– Each team must have a Discord account and be connected to the NMFFL Discord server. Team owners who do not have access to the Discord server should contact the NMFFL BlueSky account.
– Teams may also have one or more social media channels. Addresses for those social media channels should be provided to the NMFFL Commissioner and Technical Director for use in the NMFFL Social Media channel on the Discord server and for inclusion on the NMFFL website.
Dice Rolls – Regulation Play
– Each owner or their designee(s) rolls a total of two six-sided dice, either physically or using a digital dice roller. The first die rolled indicates the first-half result, and the second die rolled indicates the second-half result.
– The number rolled on each roll of a six-sided die determines the result for each half as follows:
* 1 = 1 goal
* 2 = 2 goals
* 3 = 3 goals
* 4, 5, or 6 = 0 goals
Reporting Results
– Match results must be reported in one of several ways:
* A team owner may roll their dice using the digital dice roller in the NMFFL Discord server, in the appropriate channel for their division and matchweek, no later than 12:00 p.m. ET on the Saturday of that matchweek.
* A team owner may roll their dice physically in a live meeting or video call with their opponent, with one or both opponents reporting the results to the correct division and matchweek channel in the NMFFL Discord server by no later than 12:00 p.m. ET on the Saturday of that matchweek.
* A team owner may record their physical dice roll and share the result in the appropriate channel for their division and matchweek on the NMFFL Discord server by no later than 12:00 p.m. ET on the Saturday of that matchweek.
– Any team not reporting their result by 12:00 p.m. ET on the Saturday of that matchweek will receive a forfeit loss on their record. In the case that only one team forfeits, a 3-0 result will be entered in favor of the non-forfeiting side. In the event that neither team reports results in a timely manner, both teams will receive a 0-0 forfeit draw for their record.
League Tables and Tiebreakers
– Tables are sorted by points. If two or more teams have the same points, the following statistics are used to break ties:
* Goal differential
* Goals scored
* Points earned in league matches among the tied teams
* Goal differential in league matches among the tied teams
* Goals scored by each team in league matches among the tied teams
* Away goals scored by each team in league matches among the tied teams
* If teams are still tied after applying these rules, each team will roll a six-sided die to
determine placing, with the team rolling highest earning the higher placement in the table.
Departure of Team Ownership
* Should a club’s owner decide to stop participating during a league season, the league commissioner may designate someone to oversee that team’s participation for the remainder of the ongoing season.
* Teams whose owners stop participating will be moved to former member status at the end of a season unless a new owner takes over the club.

Dice Rolls – Regulation Play
– Each owner or their designee(s) rolls a total of two six-sided dice, using only one of the following methods:
* In-person meeting
* Live video call
* Digital dice rolled in the NMFFL Discord channel.
– Owners who wish to use the Discord channel should reach out to the league commissioner to gain access.
– The number rolled on each roll of a six-sided die determines the result for each half as follows:
* 1 = 1 goal
* 2 = 2 goals
* 3 = 3 goals
* 4, 5, or 6 = 0 goals
Dice Rolls – Extra Time
– Extra time operates the same way as regulation play.
Dice Rolls – Penalty Shootout after Extra Time
– Penalty shootouts are five rounds unless a team has an insurmountable lead prior to the completion of five rounds. If the score is tied after five rounds, individual rounds will occur until one team ends a round with the lead.
– Teams alternate turns throughout the shootout.
– For each penalty, the shooter rolls one six-sided die, and then the goalkeeper rolls a six-sided die. If the shooter rolls a higher number, the goal is scored.
– For matches played using digital dice in the Discord channel, the digital dice roller rolls two dice on each click. The first die for each team’s roll will be compared against each other, and the second die for each team’s roll will be compared against each other, to determine results. A minimum of three digital rolls will be required; however, the sixth die rolled by each team in penalties will only be used if the teams are level after five rounds.
Reporting Results
– Match results must be reported in one of several ways:
* A team owner may roll their dice using the digital dice roller in the NMFFL Discord server, in the appropriate channel for their competition and round of play, no later than 5:00 p.m. ET on the Tuesday of that round’s matches. If no matches are scheduled for Tuesday of that round, the deadline will be the start time of the first match of that round.
* A team owner may roll their dice physically in a live meeting or video call with their opponent, with one or both opponents reporting the results to the appropriate channel for their competition and round of play in the NMFFL Discord server by no later than the deadline for that round of matches.
* A team owner may record their physical dice roll and share the result in the appropriate channel for their competition and round of play on the NMFFL Discord server by no later than the deadline for that round of matches.
– Any team not reporting their result by the deadline for that round of matches will receive a forfeit loss on their record. In the case that only one team forfeits, a 3-0 result will be entered in favor of the non-forfeiting side. In the event that neither team reports results in a timely manner, NMFFL officials will generate a random result for the match.
Departure of Team Ownership
* Should a club’s owner decide to stop participating during a league season, that club will forfeit their next match, and the opponent will advance to the next round of the competition.
